Captain Potassium

There was once a boy name Davy Humphrey. Davy was thirteen and he was very unhealthy and he didn’t care about taking care of the planet at all. Davy’s mother was always trying to get him to eat more potassium and help the planet. His mother always wanted him to recycle and help plant more trees in order to help the environment. Davy always ignored his mother because he thought that his health and his contributions to the planet weren’t important. Davy and his mother always fought over his health and his contributions to the planet and one day Davy made his mother so mad that she stormed out of the door and didn’t come back for several hours. Davy started to get worried and he went looking for her. Davy looked for hours and hours and he could never find his mother. Davy was getting very worried when he finally got a call from the local police station. The police said that Davys mother had died in a car crash and she hadn’t made it. Davy was devastated. He couldn’t get over the fact that his mother left the house because of their fight and that she died because of him. From that point on Davy decided that he would fulfill his mothers wish and he decided to start eating right and help the planet. Davy tried to eat more potassium because he his doctor said that his potassium level was dangerously low. Davy tried to eat two bananas a day because bananas are very high in potassium. Davy also made an effort to try to recycle glass more and he made sure that he planted more trees and plants and made sure they had the right soil to live. Davy went on for a year making a conscious effort to better himself when one day he woke up and there was a man sitting in the chair across from his room. The man seemed as if he was glowing. The man started speaking before Davy could ask who he was. The glowing man explained that he was the god of the period table and he had a very important mission for Davy. The God of the Periodic Table told Davy that he admired Davys work and that he was going to make him “Captain Potassium.” Davy didn’t understand. The God explained that there were super heroes for all the elements except for potassium. The God of the Period Table explained that Potassium was a very important metal and he trusted Davy to share its importance with all the other people. The glowing man presented Davy with an outfit and told him that it was his job to wear this and go around to and help spread potassium. The God of the Period Table told Davy that his job was to make sure that people started eating right and start protecting the planet. Potassium is a very important part of everybody nutrition and Potassium is found in glass and fertilizers. It was Davys job to make people start recycling glass and making sure plants had potassium in the soil. The God also gave Davy four very important super powers. Since Potassium has a very low density, Davy was able to walk on water and fly, he could travel through the center of the earth since potassium makes up almost 5% of the earth’s crust, and he had the power to produce bananas whenever he wanted in order to help nutrition. Just as the god was leaving, he left Davy with a very important warning, if Davy ever came in complete contact with water, he would burst into flames and die instantly. As soon as the god of the Period table left, Davy immediately rushed over to his new super hero uniform. The suit was a light silver color with a big purple K in the center. Davy tried on his brand new uniform with boots shaped like bananas and purple cape with the words “Captain Potassium” across the back and he immediately started on his new mission. Captain Potassium flew all around the world telling children and adults about the importance of potassium, how it was important to nutrition, helped plants grow, and how it was used in glass and that it was important to recycle it to help the planet. Captain Potassium fed many hungry bellies with his abilities to produce bananas instantly and he preserved the planet by creating healthy fertilizer and by encouraging people to recycle. Captain Potassium flew all around the world helping people learn about potassium and he never once came in complete contact with water. Captain Potassium never stopped until one day the God of the Periodic Table returned and said that Captain Potassium had fulfilled his duties and there was no one else to teach. The God of the Period Table took away Davys powers and his uniform and he left Davy. Davy was very sad because he loved his super hero powers and he loved informing people about the importance’s of potassium, but he was also very happy because he had accomplished what he had set out to accomplish and he could finally rest with the proud thought that he fulfilled his mothers wish.
